Sleeping Like a Baby

Frequently Asked Questions

Why should I hire a Pediatric Sleep Consultant?

We know there are lots of DIY resources out there on infant sleep, whether they be books written by famous pediatricians and maternity nurses or websites for new parents. However, we believe every child and every family’s situation should be analyzed and treated with a dedicated approach. We will listen closely to you so that we can address your little one’s sleep issues with a customized strategy that can be effective and that will last in time.

Will the process involve crying?

We want to be 100% honest with families working with us and therefore we cannot say that there will be no tears. Crying is your child’s way of protesting change so it is totally possible that, by modifying their sleep habits, you see some sort of protest on their part.

However, our methods involve responsive techniques and so we will never ask you to leave your child to cry alone.

The reason why we have been so successful with hundreds of clients stems from the possibility of letting parents opt for sleep training solutions they are comfortable with and that they can easily put in place.
It is possible that, during the very first days of implementing the plan, your child will resist the new habits we will gradually establish. But sleep training is not a selfish act! Teaching your child healthy sleep habits is extremely important. Lack of sleep can cause irritability, increased stress, forgetfulness, difficulties with learning and low motivation. Over time, it can also contribute to anxiety and depression. We believe this is enough to make you understand that helping your children sleep well is one of the greatest gifts you could ever give them.

What makes us different from other sleep consultants?

We have attended extensive training programs and also take part in continuing education events to keep up with the most recent sleep findings and research. Not only have we read most books on infant sleep but also are the kind of sleep nerds that have a google alert for every research on sleep and/or infant development.

We understand that sleep training can be a sensitive and emotional topic for many parents, and our goal is to provide support and guidance in a compassionate and non-judgmental manner.

Our methods are based on research-backed techniques that encourage positive sleep associations and help children fall asleep and stay asleep on their own. We never advocate for harsh sleep training methods that may cause distress to both the child and the parents.

What if the program doesn't work for my child?

We have no reason to fear that the program will not work if you follow our indications. Moreover, ours will be a team effort: You can expect us to personalize every part of the program so that it aligns with your daily life, expectations and, moreover, your parental philosophy. We will take your hand and guide you through the entire process until we reach the finish line. If something is not working the way we initially expect, we will discuss this together and will come up with an alternative strategy so that you not only achieve your goal but also feel 100% confident about what you are doing. We want you to be able to see daily progress!

My child sleeps amazingly at night but struggles with naps. Is there something we can do?

Yes! your child's naps can impact the way they sleep at night (and vice versa). By following our advice, you can expect to see improvements across all sleep situations.

Book a discovery call and let us assess your case. We will then be able to direct you to the package that best suits your needs.

Can I sleep train and breastfeed?

Absolutely YES! Sleep training can totally co-exist with breastfeeding and, oftentimes, helping a child sleep well starting from the very first months of life can help mom cope better with daily stress and breastfeed more successfully and for longer.

Can I sleep train if my baby suffers from reflux?

If the treatment that your baby is on is successful and he isn't in pain, absolutely! Often, babies with reflux need a lot of support to fall asleep, and once reflux is under control, they are ready to learn better sleep skills.

I have more than one child. Is there any package that will work for me?

Of course! We regularly work with families that need to improve the sleep of more than one child, be it twins or siblings of different age. Book a discovery call and let us assess your case. We will then be able to direct you to the package that best suits your needs. This can be a great opportunity to help the whole family sleep better!
